Pre-registration now open for The Merida Ex 2022

After a pause in 2020, we were lucky enough to return for another great helping of THE MERIDA EX in 2021. While there were a few additional restrictions, we look back at the 2021 event with a big smile on our faces and can’t wait to do it all again.

 
So, THE MERIDA EX 3 day enduro will return in 2022, once again with the support of Shimano STEPS, as well as all our other sponsors.
 
The 2022 event will take place on the 16-18th of September 2022 and will be based in Allerford, a small village between Minehead and Porlock.
 
As in the years gone by, we will keep THE MERIDA EX small, and just 80 riders will get the chance to challenge themselves over three unforgettable days of mountain biking.
 
More than just a race, THE MERIDA EX is an adventure filled with punishing climbs, beautiful singletrack and stunning descents on some of the least ridden trails in the country. We will have over 20 timed special stages, spread over approx. 110 km of riding.
 
Riders ride, eat and celebrate with fellow racers and are treated to the best locally sourced food and drink Exmoor has to offer all as part of the all-inclusive entry fee.
 
Following the overwhelming feedback from the 2021 event, the Exposure Lights ‘Night Enduro’ stages will return, so be prepared for some night racing action followed by scrumptious food just meters from the finish line of your final night riding stage.
 
On top of that, we are adding another ‘event’ to the weekend. For all the early arrivals, we have our new for 2022 ‘Enduro Time Trial’, which will take place on Thursday afternoon. The event is stand alone, so no worries if you can’t make it, and we will release further details nearer the time.

DETAILS OF OUR 2022 EVENT:

The entry all-inclusive entry fee for our 2022 event is: £375
 
For that, you will get:

• 6-8 gravity special stages each day with dibber timing system
• 35-45km of riding a day with approx. 1,500 – 2,300m climbing each
• NEW FOR 2022: Thursday afternoon stand-alone ‘Enduro Time Trial’ (details TBC)
• Exposure Lights Friday night enduro stages (make sure you bring your lights)
• A fully marked course
• Uplift at the start of each day
• Medical cover and marshals throughout
• On-course water stations
• (Enduro-) World-famous vintage tea stop
• Scrumptious locally sourced food and drink (breakfast/lunch/dinner)
• A free bar on-site if you fancy a few beers or ciders!
• Comfortable camping facilities, including quality showers and flushing toilets.
• Evening entertainment.
• A gift when you finish the event.
• Yoga classes.
• E-bike charging facilities.

Unfortunately, due to massive cost increases in every part of our event, we could not maintain the 2020/2021 entry fee.
 
THE MERIDA EX is based on providing not just top-level riding but also on going all out on every other aspect of our event, from facilities to food and from all-inclusive bar to our uplift element. From the start, we made it our mantra to not cut corners and provide the highest possible standard at THE EX.
 
And while those fundamentals will not change, we always strive to add new elements and make things even better where possible.

Make sure you ‘pre-register’ via the PRE-REGISTRATION PAGE so that you will receive the necessary private entry link the day before the online entry opens (to pre-registered riders only) on the 6th of March 2022.
 
Please keep in mind that you will not be able to enter the event when it opens on the 6th of March if you haven’t pre-registered.
